Preschool 4 (48 months to kindergarten enrollment)
At this center we have a full-day preschool program. We also provide before and after school care, as well as transportation, for the 3 and 4 year olds that go to the Vernon public preschools. In this program we work with children on kindergarten readiness skills. We believe that kindergarten is the foundation of a successful education and we work hard to make sure our children are well prepared. The children participate in a variety of daily activities to help them grow socially, emotional and academically. We work with Uconn students to provide a school readiness program called Jumpstart, where the children receive support and lessons on literacy. Our children also get plenty of exercise in our indoor gym. The children receive breakfast, lunch and a mid-afternoon snack daily.
School Age (Kindergarten thru 7th grade)
When school is in session, we provide breakfast and transportation to school. In the afternoon we transport the children back to the center for our after-school care. As the children arrive we help them with homework and provide a nutritious after school meal. We have an indoor gym and an outside play area so the children can release some energy after a full day of school. The children are also offered choices of arts and crafts, board games and electronic play.
